Weekly Photo Challenge: Through
It was difficult to choose which photo to use for ‘through’. So I picked three and decided to let you vote for your favourite.
1. A view of the splendid monument to Dom José in Lisbon’s Praça do Comércio through the archway on Rua Augusta.
2. Still in Lisbon, Mike walks through a piece of Jesús Soto’s kinesthetic art at a temporary exhibition in Museu do Chiado.
3. Beautiful coloured light bathes these church pews as the sun shines through the stained glass windows of the 16th century Igreja Nossa Senhora da Graça in Évora.
Decide which one you like best and vote for it by leaving me a comment.

Heck, this is hard! No wonder I don’t take part in this challenge- I’d never make my mind up what to use. Your photography is beautiful Julie- I love them all.
Thank you so much Jo – I see you’ve been having a good rummage around in the weekly photo challenge so I’m really glad you like them and appreciate all your comments
Some really beautiful work in there Julie. I never got beyond yours!
I also vote for the first pic! It’s really great!
Thanks, Jennifer
This is tough! Although the first photo is gorgeous and a beautiful monument, it’s something seen by many and could easily grace the pages of a guidebook.
The second photo is fun and personal, but for me, the third is the one that stands out. It’s simplicity gives it an immediacy; you feel as though you could reach out and touch the pews and feel the residual warmth from the sunlight. It’s thoughtful and beautiful at the same time.
Thanks, Aisha. I’m glad someone chose this picture. It was a wonderful surprise and such beautiful colours.
They are all very good photos. I’m going to say the second one since it’s more unusual than the others. I love artwork that you can interact with beyond viewing. I like how you are simultaneously showing the different experiences, depending on whether you are just viewing it or interacting with it (art nerd alert!)
Hello, art nerd
I’m a big fan of Jesús Soto’s kinesthetic art precisely because it’s interactive and adds an extra dimension to the way you experience it. Thanks for the kind comments, by the way. And my husband will be pleased that someone finally voted for the photo that he’s in.
I vote for the first one “monument to Dom José in Lisbon’s Praça do Comércio through the archway on Rua Augusta”. I think it’s really beautiful
Thanks, Debbie.
Great selection difficult to choose just one.
I vote for the first one – after much deliberation between 1 and 2!
Thanks, Robyn. It’s looking like a clear favourite.
Thanks for your votes, Tracey, Piglet and Sami. I’m inclined to agree with you.
I also vote for the first photo “Dom José in Lisbon’s Praça do Comércio”
I vote for photo 1. Great photo and suggests much more to see when you go through the arch. Mike looks like he’s having fun though…

They’re all beautiful. I’d have to pick all three, too.
I vote for the first photo. That is a beautiful part of Lisbon and that night photo just captures it´s charm so well.
