I recently gave you a glimpse of the beautiful glass that I’ve found in Porto. Now it’s time to shine the spotlight on the variety of wall art you can find as you travel around Portugal.
It’s not all about painted walls either. Without even featuring the traditional azulejos (painted tiles) of Portugal, I’ve still found some varied and creative use of ceramics. Old furniture doesn’t go to waste in this country, as you’ll see from the wooden wall art, and in some cases, you even get the chance to contribute the the art on display.

An exhibition of art on post-it notes at Ó! Galeria in Porto. As well as being able to buy any of the pictures that took your fancy, they also had a supply of blank post-its and pens so you could create your own post-it art and display it on the opposite wall of the gallery.

Gezo Marques is a Brazilian artist who works wonders with old furniture and bric-a-brac. This is one of the walls of his gallery in Bairro Alto.

At the Museum of Contemporary Art in Elvas, they have set aside a room for visitors to draw their thoughts on the walls. Charcoals, pastels and pencils provided.

The garden of Lisbon’s Lost In bar is gorgeous, not only for its views across the city and comfy seating arrangements, but for the paintings on the walls.

The walls around the café on Rua das Flores have been brightened up with paintings of trees and flowers.
