The Best Faro Hotels, Guesthouses And Apartments

If you’re considering staying in the Algarve’s capital city, here are some of the best hotels in Faro, plus charming guesthouses and superb apartments. Because more people are choosing this historical city as a base, the accommodation offer in Faro has become wider and more varied over the past few years.

The city has changed since my first visit, way back in 2007, and is more geared towards tourism without losing its character and charm. Each time I visit, and I’ve been back many times over the years, I find new things to love about the place. Whenever I take visiting friends to stay overnight, they are just as impressed as I am.

The hotels in Faro offer luxury and value for money, guesthouses provide a unique warmth and apartments give you the chance to do your own thing at your own pace.

In terms of location, anywhere near the marina or around the old town would be ideal, although I would not choose to drive inside Vila Adentro, the walled old town with narrow cobbled streets.

If you have a car, make sure to choose accommodation with parking facilities onsite or nearby as street parking is not always possible.

This 5-star hotel offers both indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a range of rooms to suit all tastes. Hotel Eva Senses is right next to the marina and features a rooftop pool, bar and restaurant with great views of the Ria Formosa. There’s also a spa and gym should you feel the need. Rooms are spacious and some come with sea views. Try to get a room with a balcony 

This downtown located hotel offers spacious rooms filled with natural light, some of which open onto a balcony. There’s a restaurant on site and a range of spa facilities to enjoy. Check availability.

For a budget option this hotel is excellent. It has a great location and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. See rooms.

Guesthouses and boutique hotels in Faro

Choose a room with a garden or pool view at this charming guesthouse.The accommodation is in the middle of the old town but it’s remarkably quiet and serene. Breakfasts are very good and the hosts more than helpful. Check availabilty for your dates.
