I met Julie a few years ago and had the privilege of accompanying her on a guided tour of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. Since then I have followed her extraordinary work in raising awareness of a genuine Portugal, away from the main tourist routes.
Whether they are about the traditions, gastronomy, local culture or one of many other topics, Julie’s texts (duly illustrated with her photos) always have that power to awaken our curiosity to visit the places she talks about. She is clearly in love with Portugal, and conveys her emotions and her experiences in a simple way. And that is a fundamental characteristic for those who work in and write about tourism.
